How Our Story Began?

Polimek was founded in 1995 by our innovative and forward-thinking CEO, Mesut Polat, and a few R&D enthusiasts. This group thought that the products manufactured abroad and sold in Turkey could indeed be produced in our country, and even more, could be adjusted for the conditions of our country. They set a few-step target for themselves and built their R&D process on it.

One of these goals was to produce access control security systems such as x-ray baggage / luggage scanners, walk through metal detectors / door detectors, turnstiles, access control systems etc. that create a safe environment and organize entrance and exit in places with intense human crowd.

In the second stage of their targets, they aimed to find a solution for companies who ask “How do I track my employees time and attendance?” In this line they produced Personnel Attendance Control System that controls the working hours, shifts, entries-exits, etc. of the employees in the workplaces. This system entegrated with card readers, biometric readers, turnstiles and time attendance control software. Contemporary technologies such as touch memory, proximity, mifare and RFID systems were used. 

In line with the innovative ideas of Mesut Polat, the creative CEO of Polimek, “Patrol Tour Control  System” which is called “Smart Pen” designed in 1995. This guard tour Control system was deemed worthy of the Creativity in Electronics award of TESID (Turkish Electronics Industrialists Association) and became the pioneer of Guard / Watchman Tour Monitoring Systems in Turkey, and in this way, the checkpoints that the security guards patrol, what point they check at what time, etc. could be followed.
